The Spanish Past Perfect (or Pluscuamperfecto) is used to talk about a past action that occurred before another action in the past.
If you speak English, this tense is very easy to master because it is the exact equivalent of "had" + past participle (e.g., "I had done," "you had eaten," "we had spoken"). It is very common to use it with words like ya (already), todavía no (not yet), and nunca (never).
The Past Perfect is a compound tense, which means it requires two verbs to work together:

Combine the two events into one sentence using the Past Perfect for the action that happened first. Use words like "cuando" (when) or "ya" (already).
