Read the following text about how life used to be. Pay attention to the verbs in bold.

El viaje de nuestras costumbres
Cuando mi abuelo era niño, la vida era muy diferente. Él no jugaba con aparatos electrónicos. Todos los días, él y sus amigos jugaban en la calle a las canicas y al escondite hasta que oscurecía. En esa época, las personas escribían cartas de papel y esperaban semanas para recibir una respuesta. La comida era 100% natural y las familias cocinaban con fuego.

Pero todo cambió. Un día, su padre le compró un coche de madera hecho a mano. Él estuvo muy feliz ese día y lo guardó para siempre. Ayer por la tarde, yo fui a su casa, le hice una visita y nosotros hablamos por mi teléfono móvil moderno. Él me dijo que la tecnología es buena, pero extraña los días en la calle.
